modern crazy quilt raffle ticket
Wouldn’t it be amazing to win this brilliant take on a multi-hued Victorian crazy quilt?! Take a chance for just $10 (3 for $20)!! Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Wood Block building restoration fund including the Wood Block Center’s art exhibition and performance spaces. The quilt is generously donated to CiviCure by the Capital District Modern Quilt Guild of Albany as part of their mission to use the art of quilting in support of the arts in the region’s communities.
The “String Fan” design of the quilt being raffled is the work of Guild member Becky Glasby. The design was shared with members who contribute unique blocks in a Block-of-the-Month effort that is then assembled, quilted, bound and signed by this extraordinary group of volunteers. Fabrics have been used in a triadic color scheme which is three colors at equidistant points from each other on the color wheel. The quilt measures 50 by 50 inches.
The Capital District Modern Quilt Guild, established in 2016, seeks to further members’ modern quilting skills and to inspire and educate the Capital District community on modern and non-traditional quilting. One of the Guild’s signature efforts is the donation of Block-of-the-Month quilts to cultural and other not-for-profit organizations. Click here for more information about the Guild.
Want to check the quilt out in person? It is on view in the 1st floor foyer gallery of Wood Block (3-5 Main Street). The drawing will be held on or around December 24. The winner will be notified by either phone or email.
